'I recently read a book called “Salt, Sugar, Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us“, by Michael Moss. This is the first book that really tells the story of how food companies influenced the eating habits of an entire nation — an entire planet.
This book has a much bigger scope than “Fast Food Nation” because it not only talks about convenience fast food, but the entire processed food industry.
It’s a gripping tale of greed, manipulation, business wars and marketing, but also one that shows that there is not just one villain in this story, but that each and everyone of us has a part of responsibility in the degradation of our eating habits, resulting in an obesity and health crisis of epic proportions.
